From the moment we met, there was an immediate connection based upon our similar upbringings, interests, and type A personalities. The funny thing is that most of our disagreements came about during wedding planning (hah!) which I guess is not uncommon. Since both of us are from New York, we had thought it was a no-brainer to get married in the Northeast, however we were disappointed with the venue prospects. I threw out the idea of having a destination wedding, which we both weren’t entirely keen on given that we wanted as many of our loved ones to attend. California seemed like the next best thing because it was domestic. I flew out to the Golden State solo and Bear Flag Farm was my first stop. I immediately fell in love with the property and the owner, Tina, and I was completely sold. I would like to think I wasn’t a so-called ‘bridezilla’ but I had a pretty specific vision for the wedding: a ferris wheel, natural wood furniture, gold-rimmed glassware, an Asian inspired menu, you-name-it. My ideas were all laid out to Tina and her team in a crazy Powerpoint that I had made. When our wedding day rolled around, it was was everything we had imagined plus more – the weather, the crowd, the surroundings all exceeded our expectations. Geoff and I are so privileged to have shared the day with all our closest family and friends, and to have the most amazing parents who were able to provide us with our dream wedding
